Sharing your dreams with the right people is crucial to life’s progress and team’s success in general, these were the words of the Chief Coordinating executive (CCE) of Green Lock FC, Mr. Olayinka Oladunjoye while speaking on Sports Circle, a flagship sports program on Police Radio 99.1 last Wednesday in Abuja.
In an exclusive interview with Collins Ajibola, the host of Sports Circle, Mr. Oladunjoye said Green Lock FC is a club built on accountability which is one of the organization’s core values in the execution of its set goals and objectives.
He asserted that the vision of the club which was birthed by young Mr. Olufunsho Peters is primarily aimed at changing football business narration in the country and to rescue the structure from a dwindling precept.
He affirmed that the system at Green Lock FC is equipped enough to discover and to nurture talented players across the length and breathe of Nigeria, with the hope that gifted players will not wither away, as they bid to restore Nigeria’s lost glory through the Green Lock FC’s project.
“There is a Visionary, a young man who came up with this vision, looking at the way the system of football is in Nigeria, it does strike a cord that there’s something we can do to change the narrative of football in this country”
“You need to have people who can also share in your dreams, so you can achieve purpose and that is what we have on ground and that is what has kept us running”
“So far so good, we are just six weeks old and we have taken the world by storm, such that it makes it a captivating name in the industry of football, north, south, east and west in Nigeria”
In terms of accountability in players transfers, Olayinka said “everything has been put into measure before going into it, you cannot take away the quality of the system, you also have to get yourself prepared, football is business and that is why people try to whisk one another off when it comes to the transfer of players, we have a very good standard and everything regarding the system we have put in place. We will make it a win win situation for all that are involved”
“We have scouts everywhere all across the country, we are not retaining everybody in the system because it is an operational club, what we are after is that the raw talents of this country are not wasted, we want to make sure that these talents will find their foot somewhere, so that at the end of the day they don’t become nuisance to the society, so that Nigeria’s lost glory could be restored through these raw talents” he stated.
