Green Lock FC are on an imperious vein of form ahead of the 2024 Nationwide League One Division One, securing four convincing wins on the bounce within a five days in a friendly series put together by the club.
The boys were not to be deterred by the packed schedule as they easily dispatched every hurdle that confronted them at the Bwari Township Stadium with aplomb. Igniting every game with their exciting skills and impressive team display.
It was a profligate start from the boys on Tuesday as they squandered numerous chances in front of goal despite dominating the game against Chidex FC. Enoch Eneche however spared their blushes with late equalizer as the game finished one all.
Lessons were learnt and it was another commanding performance at the dawn of Wednesday as Green Lock FC were comfortable 2 nil winners over Derby FA. Peter Abiodun opened the scoring with a tidy finish, while Damilola Adeyeye added the second from the penalty spot.
Thursday was drubbing day; A much changed, Green Lock FC were in their seventh heaven, sweeping past Nile University FC with 7 unreplied goals. After just 3 minutes into the game, Alexander Alade opened the flood gate for more goals followed by a second strike in as many games and days from Enoch Eneche two minutes later. Soji Isaac and Theophilus Babas got a brace each while Hamzat Tajudeen completed the scoring a minute after coming on.
The team celebrated the confirmation of their training tour of Turkey with Antalyaspor AS on Thursday night with another convincing victory. The charge was led by the warrior efforts of Daniel Odumu who smashed in a brace for the 2 – 0 over De Royal Stars FA.
This was a major delight for the management of the club, a fruit of their addition of sage football tutor, Coach Siji Lagunju to elevate the work of its technical crew. On the one hand, the travelling party to Turkey will begin packing their bags while the others focus on the preparation for a maiden appearance in the league.
