Dr. Olubunmi Peters, Chairman of Green Lock FC Ltd, has charged the team’s contingent on the training tour of Turkey with approaching their opponents with confidence as one of the important factors for success on the trip.

This served as the focal point of Dr. Peters’ farewell speech to the players and management team when he saw them off at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

He noted that while they must convey respect as one of Green Lock FC’s ideals, the players must exhibit respect with confidence, to capture the true essence of their business in Turkey, to opponents and scouts alike.

He admonished them on a quick start to their games, stating that “It sells you to start well, and I want you to adopt that, be respectful but confident, no submission! Once you start submitting to the people you meet, there is a tendency that once you get to the field, you are actually going to submit to your opponents, psychologically.””Have a mind that you’re there to partner, (a mind of) I am here to show you my talents. Not to be over confident, but to be sure that you uphold Green Lock FC’s standard”, the erudite human resource manager added.

As part of his fatherly approach, the Chairman exchanged warm greetings with the entire team and demonstrated various greeting cultures observed in different parts of the world to help the players understand how to exchange pleasantries with different nationalities they may encounter on their journey. He expressed his trust and confidence in the talents of the boys and promised that he will be cheering them on as they prove themselves worthy of taking on the next step in their career. He affirmed his belief in the boys’ abilities and pledged to support them as they demonstrate their potential for moving on to the next phase of their careers.
