Green Lock FC humbly bowed to a 4-0 defeat to Nigeria’s U20 National team, the Flying Eagles, on Saturday evening at the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

First half brace from Chibueze, and a goal each from Aliyu Rabiu and Haruna, was all the Flying Eagles needed to keep Green Lock FC’s power and tenacity in check.

Coach Idris Bolarinwa’s tactical tweak, and his attempt to alter the game plan of the Flying Eagles in the second half period of the match couldn’t yield much fruits at goal mouth, as the Ladan Bosso’s led charges were resolute and repelled every attempt with so much grit and resistance.

Chairman of the club, Mr Olubunmi Oladeinde Peters was in awe of his boys performances, even as he charged them to believe more in themselves in subsequent games.

“I think the boys did very well, I can only see two goals that the National team scored against us, I think the boys are growing, the psyche of the beginning of the game affected them, but am sure as time goes on they will realize they need to go over this game quickly and not to allow the outcome of the match to slow them down”

“They need to believe more in themselves that they are a team, and they need to continue to develop that team spirit and play together as one”

Two converted penalties by Chibueze in the 5th and 13th minute, as well as goals from Aliyu and Haruna in the 16th and 36th minute respectively sealed a comfortable 4-0 victory for the Flying Eagles of Nigeria against Green Lock FC, at the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Saturday evening, in Abuja.
