With less than a fortnight until the kickoff of the Green Lock FC Summer Youth Tournament, invited teams were on Friday evening paired with their opponents for the group phase of the much anticipated event held at the prestigious Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

At the virtual draw ceremony, host Green Lock FC were handed potentially explosive fixtures in Group B, taking on exciting Lagos-based Ojodu City FC, high-flying Igbajo United FC, and the much-talented Right2Win FC.

In Group A, Star Builders FC will contend with Best Talent FC, Magic Stars FC, and TCCG FC to see who tops the table. The teams have their eyes on the top prizes of the competition as icing on their talents being scouted for opportunities in their professional careers in Europe.

Opening the draws event, the Executive Vice Chairman of Green Lock FC raved about the readiness of the club to host a scintillating event with the quality of teams that have been invited.

The young football administrator confidently stated that “there hasn’t actually been a showcase like this in Nigeria where scouts are present to watch the players play at the top level.”

“All the teams have been carefully selected because of the standard that they have portrayed in the past and their ability to move to the next level. That standard must be sustained to ensure we keep a long term relationship as well as get the objectives done.”

Funsho Peters assured the teams that “Green Lock FC is here to change and revolutionise the recruitment game.” An effort he posited will be achieved with total cooperation from the teams, maintaining a great level of discipline, good dressing, and the maintenance of professional conduct that promotes a positive image of Nigerian football.
