Green Lock FC and FWC Champions played out a 1-1 draw in an intriguing high octane and feather ruffling matchup at the Bwari township stadium on Thursday evening in Abuja.

Fans were thrilled to ecstasy in what could be described as a marquee contest, where Green Lock FC showed character, composure and great compatibility to the delight of their supporters.

And it seem as though, it was a day set aside for the “Israel’s” to get on the score sheet, as Israel Amodu puts his side (Green Lock FC) ahead after a lightning counterattack in the 42nd minute, while Monday Israel restored parity for FWC Champions midway through the second half of the game.

Speaking shortly after the match, Chief Coordinating Executive (CCE) of Green Lock FC, Mr Olayinka Oladunjoye, said he was overwhelmed with every bit and pieces of the game. He noted that the performance of his boys speaks volume of what to expect from the team during the club’s first premier soccer showcase event billed to take place in January.

“I am happy with what I saw today, although the match ended in a draw but the boys played and fought really hard”

“I believe that the fans will see even better by the time our showcase event starts in January, and I want to believe that if they play like this in January, up to 5 of them will succeed when the scouts that are coming from Europe sees them”

Thursday’s match is the third in a series of friendly matches Green Lock FC have played in the yuletide season, building up to the main event in January.

Following the team’s shocking 4-1 defeat to Likeminds FC last week Friday, The boys bounced back and trounced Hype Buzz FC 3-0 on Wednesday, and followed it up with another sterling 1-1 draw against FWC Champions, at the Bwari township stadium, Abuja.
