At the end of the five-day grueling Green Lock FC’s maiden football showcase scouting program in Abuja, 17 talented Nigerian players have been selected by scouts for foreign moves, with 4 earning automatic four years US college scholarships.
Ten of the 17 players selected by the eleven scouts are from Green Lock FC.

Top on the list of the selected players is Bright Umeh (GLFC), others are Israel Amodu (GLFC), Falade Opeyemi Olayemi (GLFC), Adeyeye Damilola Temitope (GLFC), Odumu Sunday Daniel (GLFC), Mustapha Usman (GLFC), Suleiman Ahmed Moses (GLFC), Taofiq Yekini (GLFC), Abiodun Peter Olamide (GLFC), and Sinbad Isaac (GLFC).
Also on the list is, Mohammed Danjuma (FWC), Emmanuel Monday (FWC), Victor Samuel (Right2Win), Nnamani Emmanuel (Right2Win), Iwuji Ugochukwu, (Right2Win), Chinonso Nwele (NA Royal) and Hamzat Tajudeen (NA Royal).
The Executive Vice Chairman of Green Lock FC, Mr Olufunsho Peters expressed delight with the successful completion of the program and urged all selected players not to rest in their oars to establish themselves when they travel out of the country. Olufunsho Peters equally Psyched up others who failed to meet the selection criteria, charging them not to relent, as subsequent editions of the Showcase might just turn out to favour them.

“For those who didn’t make it this time, I urge you all not to be discouraged. Don’t give up. Keep training so you can make it next time,”
“The one’s selected, I want to encourage you to put in more hard work because if you fail to do so, you might just be asked to return home. I wish you well and congratulations to you all.” he stated.
The four players who earned automatic selection by the scouts to go through the US college scholarship system are; Bright Umeh (GLFC), Victor Samuel (Right2Win), Mohammed Danjuma (FWC) and Emmanuel Monday (FWC).

The commitment is that the university will pay their tuition fees, housing and food, including every other resources that will help the players identified to grow and to develop into successful players.
Meanwhile, The other 13 players selected have an opportunity to go through trials in Europe or in the Middle East, while they also have the alternative of going through the US College system as well according to the scouts.
The five days event which started on the 5th, climaxed on January 10th, 2024, at the Bwari township stadium, Abuja.
