Nigeria’s premier soccer showcase club, Green Lock FC, have stormed Ivory Coast to show support for the country’s senior national team, Super Eagles, following their string of impressive performances at the ongoing AFCON championship taking place in Cote D’Ivoire.
In a fit of solidarity, The Abuja based club made it’s presence felt and decided not to be left out of the splurge of encomium the Super Eagles have enjoyed from Nigerians, haven exceeded expectations with inundated and vigorous display at the ongoing AFCON championship.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be playing in the semi final of the Africa Cup of Nations against South Africa on Wednesday in Buoake, and the management of Green Lock FC have extended strong support for the team, charging them to consolidate on their robust and resilient fighting spirit to overpower South Africa and to book a place in the final.
They said “Super Eagles should continue to gird their loins and not lose sight of the reward that will precede the rigours they have been through all the way to this critical point of the competition”, stressing the need to avoid underrating their opponent, regardless of the better placement Nigeria have over South Africa in terms of head-to-head statistics, and in world football rankings.
Wednesday’s meeting in Buoake between Nigeria and South Africa will make it the 15th time both teams will be playing against each other at the senior level, and Green Lock FC have joined millions of other Nigerians wishing the team success against South Africa.
