Announcing Green Lock FC’s arrival in Ogun State, dynamic midfielder Ibrahim Idris has already netted the club’s first two goals in Sagamu, leading their charge to conquer their new home.
The 18-year-old, known for his electrifying skills and intelligent defensive play, found the net in two recent preseason encounters, fueling anticipation for their upcoming season.
Idris’ first strike came in a friendly against Fame Sports FC, where he demonstrated his aerial prowess by heading in a corner kick. His second goal showcased his agility and composure, as he received the ball in the box during the Cool Hopefuls Pre Tournament opener against B.E Arena, flicked it past a defender and the onrushing goalkeeper, and slotted it into an empty net for the game’s opening score.

Despite initial uncertainties surrounding the relocation from Abuja, Idris echoed Coach Bolarinwa Idris’s sentiments of embracing the challenge. “When we heard about the move, some wondered, ‘Can we adapt?’ But Coach Bolarinwa told us, ‘its about rising to the moment, we’re adapting and we’re attacking this challenge,” he asserted.
The pre league tournament continues as the team adapts to its new home, Idris emphasized the team’s strong bond, forged through adapting to new training grounds and facing tougher opponents. “Whether it’s training on new pitches or facing tougher opponents, we’ve bonded like brothers. Ogun State will see a team that fights for every ball, every minute.”
Looking ahead to the Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign later this month, Idris believes it will be a crucial platform for the team to showcase their abilities and, in his words, “put on a show that opens doors for all of us.”
